Learn the basics of the wood lathe, one of the most popular tools in the wood shop. Objects that are made in this class are selected by the instructor and may include, bottle openers, bud vases, candlestick holders or other objects that can be used around the home, given as fun hand made gifts, or stand alone as pieces of art. The class teaches in detail operation of the lathe and how to safely use two shaping tools: the spindle roughing gouge and carbide tip scrapers.
