$119
Learn to make eye-catching 3D carving art! The X-Carve at DIYcave boasts incredible precision, matched with ease of use, that will allow you to create fantastic projects with little experience and learning curve. It opens new avenues for artwork to be displayed on woods, acrylics and many other materials that engrave well.
In this class, you will learn the basics of using the X-Carve CNC including designing your artwork, material choices, tips & tricks, and solutions to common problems that might arise in bringing your creations to life. We will go over the tools available for drawing shapes, how to import an SVG file, and what speeds and feed rates are best for different materials. We’ll also talk about different kinds of bits that are available and their best uses. You’ll get hands-on experience with the X-Carve machine itself and cover best practices for clamping material to the waste board, how to change bits in the router, and safe machine operation.
